Hi, Ilo and Fernanda!
Don’t know who I am? I’m you in a few months.
I’m writing now because the year is coming to an end, and this is that
time when we take stock, even without realizing it.
I know this year had it all: good days and tough days,
achievements, changes in direction, some losses, and adjustments that
came little by little. I just wanted to remind you of one
simple thing: you did the best you could, with what you had. And that’s already a lot.
I also wanted to thank you for choices that seemed
small: saying “yes” to a break, traveling with more
mindfulness, trading an overloaded schedule for real time. That’s when things started to feel lighter.
Today I remember places through details: smells, light, conversation,
laughter, and peaceful silence. Some photos turned out beautiful, others
blurry… And that’s okay. The best memories don’t live in any album.
Time passes anyway. The difference is what we
choose to do with it. If you’re in doubt, I’ll tell you
with confidence: make memories. In the end, that’s what lasts.
With love,
Ilo and Fernanda — after they went off to explore the world.
